Needle felted Fatty Flareon

I've been wanting to try my hand at needle felting for quite a while, and FINALLY got myself to get the supplies. So here's my first creation, started to work on him last evening and finished him this morning. I am surprised how fast a process it was! I was expecting for it to take many days, not just a few hours. O_o
The person who first thought to stick a needle repeatedly into wool to create these little things was a freaking GENIUS. Seriously. This was so much fun I have no words left. oAo Though it was murder on my shoulders and wrist!

But yeah, my first thing to do of COURSE had to be a Flareon. Bolero's feral form to be specific (Hence the two long flerps of hair before his ears). And I wanted it to be FAT. Like, a cute little fatty Flareon I kiiinda wanted it to be even fatter, buuut. :U Good enough for me~.
He's really tiny.. Only about 3cm tall! (That's a bit more than an inch) So it was a bit of a challenge to do the small details like eyes. 9_9'' EsESpecially the whites of his eyes! Oh lord, those things just so wanted to mix in with the red wool and look pink. 8I Maybe I should just work in a larger size in the future. _{But I like to work small..}
Also might also try using like.. Proper faux fur for the fuzzy parts in the future. Like, sew/glue it on. Mohair might look nice too. : o *So many things to try out!*

But yeah, even if his face is a bit derpy and the blonde wool was much more coarse than I wanted.. I'm quite happy with this little guy, especially considering he's my first. :U Why is Bolero always my first everything.. Or, well, not EVERYTHING, but many things.. *Sigh*
Oh, and also, after taking these pictures, I still did fix him up a bit, maily by scizzoring off the loose hairs that surrounded him and then fixed up his left eye. 8'D (The white part was so pink! OMG. D8> Had to re-do the white thing and I managed to get it more straight too. And so he looks much better now. VuV ) I miiight take beter pictures and update them here later on but.. Right now I'm feelig too lazy.

But yes! This was a lot of fun, so don't be surprised if you'll see more of these things from me! I will have to study to university entrance exams the next week or two so I won't have much time to draw or felt but.. After that I should be free again! Yep.. Gotta studyyyyy. Luckily geology is my strong point in school, haha. |D
